Dr. Christina Jenkins, MD
Christina Jenkins, MD, known as CJ, is a venture investor and board member who leverages technology, clinical expertise, and trusted partnerships to improve health outcomes at scale. Her background spans clinical medicine, health systems, and health plans, enabling a rigorous, systems-level approach to evaluating and supporting healthcare companies.
Dr. Jenkins is a co-founder and General Partner of Convergent Ventures, where she leads the firm’s health and life sciences investment strategy. She focuses on Seed and Series A companies building AI-enabled platforms across the healthcare continuum, from drug discovery to diagnosis, therapy, and monitoring. She currently serves as an investor board member for Biotia, Tensor Bio, and Noze, supporting founders through product development, clinical validation, and commercialization.
Dr. Jenkins is deeply committed to advancing women’s health. She previously co-chaired an annual New York Stock Exchange women’s health investor event and has served as an advisor and investor for Portfolia’s women’s health-focused funds, reflecting a long-term commitment to addressing unmet needs in underinvested areas of healthcare.
In addition to her venture roles, Dr. Jenkins serves as an independent board member of private equity-backed companies Help at Home and Medical Solutions and as an advisory board member of Independence Health Group. Earlier in her career, she was the founding Chief Executive Officer of OneCity Health Services, a subsidiary of NYC Health and Hospitals, where she built the organization from inception to 130 employees and led a $1.2 billion initiative to redesign care delivery and accelerate value-based payment readiness for one million lives.
Dr. Jenkins earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from Purdue University and a Doctor of Medicine from Northwestern University. She completed her residency and served as a board-certified Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and is a member of the Kauffman Fellows, a global leadership program in venture capital.
