The Track Record Behind the Thesis

The Opportunity Fund's investments will be selected as capital is deployed. Since 2013, Portfolia has built 15 funds, 198 investments, and a network of hundreds of sophisticated member-investors — creating unmatched insight into which companies are outperforming.

Previous SPVs Include

GrubMarket

$1B → $4.5B

A Series H food-tech platform rebuilding the food supply chain from farm to table. Portfolia's initial SPV investment has followed GrubMarket through multiple rounds as it compounded toward a $4.5B valuation — a preview of the caliber this Fund will target.

Maven Clinic

$200M → $1.7B (8.5x)

The largest virtual clinic for women's and family health. Portfolia invested early and followed on as Maven scaled enterprise health plan adoption nationwide — exactly the kind of trajectory this Fund is built to find more of.

b.well Connected Health

$8M → $500M

A patient-centered health data platform giving individuals control of their own records. Entered the portfolio at an $8M valuation and has grown 60x as healthcare systems race to solve interoperability — the profile this Fund is designed around.

Canela Media

$10M SAFE cap → $400M (40x)

The leading multicultural streaming and media platform, reaching the fastest-growing, most underserved audience in U.S. media. Portfolia has invested across four vehicles since 2020 — Rising America Fund, Rising America 2, Rising America 3, and an SPV.

YourChoice

Early-stage, significant projected upside

The first hormone-free male birth control pill — a $30B+ global contraceptive market with decades of unmet demand. An earlier-stage position in Portfolia's existing portfolio, rapidly advancing through clinical milestones.

Examples drawn from Portfolia's existing portfolio and SPV program. The Opportunity Fund has not yet made any investments; specific holdings will be selected from this network as capital is deployed and disclosed to investors accordingly.

FAQs

Since May 2020, Portfolia's SPV program has deployed $21.7M across 23 direct investments, producing current valuations of $27.6M — a gross TVPI of 1.23x and a projected net TVPI of 4.11x, with a projected net IRR of 36.63%.

The Fund hasn't made its investments yet — specific holdings will be selected and disclosed as capital is deployed. It will draw from Portfolia's existing network and portfolio, which includes companies like Maven Clinic, GrubMarket, Canela Media, b.well Connected Health, and YourChoice, and will target 12 to 20 companies that meet the Fund's high-conviction threshold.

The Fund is managed by Trish Costello, Founder and CEO of Portfolia, and Tammi Jantzen, Portfolia's CFO/COO and the Opportunity Fund's dedicated Managing Director.

The Fund invests in later-stage, rapidly scaling companies — primarily follow-on commitments into businesses where Portfolia already has an ownership position, founder relationship, and track record of growth performance, concentrated in women's health, sustainability, and consumer/media.

An SPV concentrates capital in a single company. The Fund gives diversified, professionally managed exposure to 12–20 of Portfolia's highest-conviction holdings in one commitment — while individual SPVs remain available for anyone who wants to go deeper on a specific name.

The Fund is structured in two vehicles: $10M open to individual accredited investors, and $40M reserved for Qualified Purchasers — investors with $5M or more in investable capital, including family offices, trusts, and foundations.
