Juliana Garaizar
Juliana is a Board Member of the Angel Capital Association, a Lead Investor in the Portfolia Rising America Fund, Consumer Fund, and Rising Tide Fund, and the Launch Director for Greentown Labs Houston. She is also President of the Business Angel Minority Association and serves on the advisory boards of the Cougar Venture Fund and the Houston Diversity Fund. Previously, she was Director of the Texas Medical Center Venture Fund and Managing Director of the Houston Angel Network.
Juliana is a Kauffman Fellow (Class 20), part of a prestigious Silicon Valley–based leadership program for venture capitalists. Kauffman Fellows have collectively deployed nearly $200 billion in capital and helped create more than 750,000 jobs worldwide.
Earlier in her career, Juliana managed the Sophia Business Angels network on the French Riviera, recognized by EBAN as Best European Angel Network in 2010, and led the Antipolis Innovation Campus. She also served as Project Manager for multiple international initiatives funded by the European Commission.
Juliana spent five years working in Singapore, first as an International Trade Consultant for the Trade Commission of Spain across diverse industry sectors, and later as a Project Manager for Citigroup’s Asia Technology Office, where she led international technology initiatives.
She earned an MBA from London Business School with a specialization in Entrepreneurship. Juliana is President of a Sophia Business Angels sidecar fund, an Expert Committee Member of Success Europe, a member of the UT Horizons Fund External Advisory Committee, and an international founding member of Istanbul’s Galata Business Angels. She was honored with the Strathmore’s Who’s Who Professional of the Year award in Financial Consulting and Investments.
