About the Opportunity

Portfolia is seeking a motivated and intellectually curious graduate student for a 12-16 week, part-time internship. The graduate intern will work alongside the team and participate in many of Portfolia’s core activities. This opportunity is designed to provide hands-on experience in venture capital, with a focus on reviewing submissions, due diligence preparation, and participating in company pitch meetings.

We seek a smart, organized, detail-oriented self-starter, ready to join a fast-paced, inclusive work environment.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with fund leadership in support of due diligence by gathering information from companies, analyzing financial data, and helping prepare internal investment memos

  • Support the deal screening process by evaluating potential opportunities from companies seeking investment and member referrals

  • Perform research and analysis for industry and market trends

  • Attend monthly lead calls and pitch calls and support Investing Operations Coordinators as needed

  • Attend diligence meetings with entrepreneurs and manage documentation (follow-up tasks, summarize call notes, etc.)

  • May perform additional projects upon request

Skills & Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program at a United States college or university.

  • Attention to detail and intellectual curiosity.

  • Interest in learning more about the venture capital industry.

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize information from various sources.

  • Superior written and oral business communications skills, with the ability to comfortably and professionally interact with investors and entrepreneurs

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

  • No previous venture capital experience is required.
