Victoria Barnard

Victoria is a lead investor in Portfolia’s Rising Tide Fund and co-led the fund’s investment in Sandstone Diagnostics, an over-the-counter diagnostic for male fertility. She also co-founded the Women’s Capital Connection, an investment group with more than $1.75 million invested. Her investment in Aratana, a pet therapeutics company, resulted in a 2013 IPO valued at $223 million. Victoria focuses her investing on consumer markets, consumer technology, and discretionary consumer products.

Victoria spent much of her career at Hallmark Cards, where she worked across wholesale, retail, digital, international, and entertainment businesses. She held senior leadership roles including Vice President of Strategic Planning, Vice President of Acquisitions Strategy and Integration, and General Managing Member of Season Cards.

In addition to her corporate leadership, Victoria served on Humana Inc.’s Innovation Advisory Board from 2010 to 2013. She has led businesses ranging from a $750 million division within a $4 billion corporation to a small family-owned company and brings more than a decade of experience in corporate strategy, governance, and mergers and acquisitions.

Highly skilled in marketing and financial management, Victoria brings a strong perspective on driving profitable growth. She is active in the Kansas City community, serving on multiple boards.

Victoria also leads Portfolia’s investor education programs, focusing on building diversified portfolios and adding value post-investment. She is known for her ability to distill key insights for investment decisions and term sheet negotiations.
