Manthi Nguyen

Manthi Nguyen is a lead investor at Portfolia, where she plays a central role across the Rising Tide Fund, the Portfolia Consumer Fund, and the Portfolia Enterprise Fund. She led Rising Tide investments in Unaliwear and Envoy and co-led investments in Tenacity and OtoSense. Within the Enterprise Fund, she led the investment in B.Well, bringing a disciplined, technically informed investment approach.

Manthi is one of the most active deal syndicators in Silicon Valley, assembling and leading investment rounds across major angel networks including Band of Angels, Sand Hill Angels, and Sierra Angels. Her ability to align capital, founders, and strategic partners has made her a trusted leader in early-stage investing and syndication.

Earlier in her career, Manthi was involved with a series of early-stage technology companies focused on routing and networking technologies that were later acquired by NEC, Cabletron, Tut Systems, and Cisco. She also worked at General Motors in the Advanced Manufacturing Research group, contributing to office and factory automation technologies and international standards development through collaborations with the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the International Organization for Standardization.

At General Motors, Manthi focused on modeling business processes, information flow, and supply chain management across the enterprise. This experience shaped her systems-level understanding of how complex technologies are applied to real-world operational challenges at scale.

Over the past 15 years, Manthi has concentrated her executive experience on small businesses, mentoring entrepreneurs, serving as a board member and advisor, and actively angel investing. She brings a practical, systems-driven perspective to evaluating early-stage companies and supporting founders through growth and execution.

Manthi holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Washington and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
