Claire England
Claire England is a seasoned venture investor, operator, and ecosystem builder with deep experience across early‑stage investing, startup community development, and impact strategy. She currently serves as an Investment Partner at GPG Ventures, where she leads the firm’s growth in healthcare venture capital and supports innovative companies across biotech, digital health, medtech, and consumer health.
In addition to her role at GPG, Claire is a Partner in Portfolia’s FemTech and Food & AgTech Funds, where she has led multiple investments and played a key role on investment committees. She is also an Operating Partner for LOHAS, an impact investing advisory firm, and serves as an advisor on the Business School Advisory Board at St. Edward’s University. Claire is a Kauffman Fellow, part of a global network of innovation‑focused venture leaders, and is frequently sought out as a speaker, panel moderator, and mentor at technology and investment events.
Earlier in her career, Claire built the Central Texas Angel Network into one of the most active angel investing communities in the U.S., where under her leadership investors deployed tens of millions of dollars into high‑growth startups with returns far exceeding typical VC benchmarks. She also directed a major founder and investor conference that helped catalyze Austin’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, and she began her professional journey in startup operations and nonprofit leadership.
Claire holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Public Relations, cum laude, and has been recognized with the Kauffman Fellows Leadership Award and as a finalist for the Austin Business Journal’s Women in Business Awards for her contributions to innovation and investment.
