Amber Caska

Amber Caska is a lead investor in Portfolia’s Consumer Fund and an active angel investor in Silicon Valley. Her investment focus centers on women-led companies, particularly in the health and health infrastructure sectors. She is deeply committed to increasing the representation of women in the C-suite and activating women as investors, and she first joined Portfolia as an investor in the Rising Tide Fund.

Amber has built a distinguished career as a family office executive, with extensive experience overseeing complex investment portfolios, governance structures, and strategic initiatives. Most recently, she served four years as Chief Financial Officer for Investments at Hillspire LLC, the family office of Alphabet Chair Eric Schmidt, and as an officer of the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Fund for Strategic Innovation, where she led investment oversight, capital allocation, and fiduciary management.

Previously, Amber spent more than eight years at Vulcan Inc., the family office of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, where she rose to Senior Director and Treasurer, reporting directly to Mr. Allen. During this time, she held board and advisory roles across investments, audit, philanthropy, sports, entertainment, and hospitality, including serving on the board of the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers.

Across her career, Amber brings a rigorous financial perspective and strong governance discipline to investing, board service, and strategic leadership. Her experience working closely with founders, executives, and institutional partners informs her approach to early-stage investing and portfolio company support.
