Beatriz Franco is a venture investor and experienced executive with a multidisciplinary background, a passion for innovation and a conviction that new technologies in food & agriculture are of paramount importance to solve climate change. 

She has a unique combination of experiences and perspectives having participated in pivotal moments of a wide range of businesses from different sides of the table. 

In 20+ years of experience, she has held many leadership positions in multinational environments including CEO of an AgTech company with offices in the US and in Brazil, director of investments at Plum Alley Investments (a Seed/Series A&B syndicate fund), Wall Street investment banker for emerging markets companies at JPMorgan, as well as corporate lawyer at top law firms in Silicon Valley (Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati), in New York (Simpson Thacher & Bartlett) and Brazil (Pinheiro Neto Advogados). 

Beatriz is also an angel investor and has invested in and advised several technology start-ups, many of which were founded by women. She has a profound admiration for founders and operators who show incredible courage by pursuing their ideas while bringing solutions to our world’s most pressing problems. She also believes that without the proper environment people will not perform at their best and that is why she has a true commitment to and gravitates toward a culture of inclusion and integrity.    

Beatriz is currently on the board of advisors of Streamline Integrated Energy, a company developing an innovative waste-to-energy project in the Dominican Republic with plans of expansion to other places in Latin America. Beatriz has also served as a board member of an AgTech, as well as at a non-profit organization, and knows how an effective board can positively impact a company through guidance and a healthy partnership with management.

Beatriz holds an MBA in Finance from IBMEC (Brazilian Capital Markets Institute), an LLM in Corporate Law from NYU School of Law and an LLB in Civil Law from PUC-RJ, Brazil.
