Internship - Marketing (SPRING 2019)

We're looking for an intern to help with sales and marketing activities, customer service and all activities related the daily operations of sales and marketing team. In this role, you will learn about the day-to-day mechanics of early-stage investing while supporting communications with prospective and current investors. This role is part-time for a local intern slated to start in September 2018.

Portfolia lets investors green-light the entrepreneurial companies, teams and products they want to see succeed in the marketplace. Portfolia welcomes all accredited* investors--even those new to entrepreneurial investing. We have a special focus on engaging the 5 million affluent women who can technically invest in start-ups, yet fewer than 1/2 of 1% have taken the opportunity. We combine the best of the angel investing world with a strategic micro-fund structure, for both 'learn-by-investing' funds and focused thematic funds. Portfolia packages 6-10 companies, across multiple themes or industries, letting investors diversify with one investment annually. The experience we deliver is engaging, collaborative and educational.

  • Developing and executing multiple sales follow up and marketing email campaigns per week in a fast paced, rapid-growth environment.

  • Coordinating and communicating with other team members and cross-functionally (Product, Sales,) to get necessary data for email lead nurturing marketing campaigns

  • Optimizing against key metrics and manage a process of iterative A/B testing to continually improve performance through messaging and targeting

  • Completing ad hoc projects as required


  • Current undergrad student or recent graduate, ideally majoring in marketing, communications, business, English, or related disciplines.

  • Organized, with absolute attention to detail and ability to multi-task

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a collaborative and professional environment

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure

  • Superior written and oral business communications skills, with the ability to comfortably and professionally interact with colleagues at all levels

  • Pleasant to work with and passionate about helping women learn to invest in the companies they want to see in the world
